Right of Way Acquisition for NextEra CREZ Project

Lone Star Transmission, LLC (“LST”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc. LST plans to construct, own and operate Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) high-voltage electric transmission facilities within Texas. LST will be regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and will meet reliability requirements as set by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NAERC). LST is currently acquiring right-of-way for a 330 mile dual circuit 345- kV transmission line, which will bring wind-generated electricity from areas of West Texas to consumers throughout the state.

The transmission lines traverse Scurry, Fisher, Jones, Mitchell, Taylor, Callahan, Shackelford, Stephens, Eastland, Palo Pinto, Erath, Comanche, Somervell, Johnson, Bosque, Hill and Navarro Counties of Texas.

Lonestar Land Services has been a service provider for LST since May 2011, when we were asked to take over right-of-way acquisition responsibilities for half of the overall project. Since that time, we have also been asked to oversee and implement a QA/QC process for the entire project and work closely with senior management to assure the project gets completed on schedule.
